Fake Article Claims Maulana Nomani Asked MVA to Transfer Farmers’ Land to Waqf
This newspaper clipping is fake, no such statement has been passed by Maulana Sajjad Nomani.

An image of a newspaper clipping is going viral purportedly published by ‘Rashtriya Ujala’ newspaper which reports that Maulana Sajjad Nomani made a statement that if the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) wins in Maharashtra, he will demand the transfer of farmers’ lands and religious sites (Hindu) to the Waqf Board.
How did we find out the truth?: We check Rashtriya Ujala's website and their social media accounts and found no such report.
In fact, they clarified on their official Facebook page on 19 November that two clippings including their publication's byline are fake clippings.
The viral image mentions the reporter as ‘Ankit Pathak', however, the publication clarified that this person is not affiliated with them.
We also did not find any other credible reports which support the claims made in the viral post.
We also found a post on X (formerly Twitter) shared by Maulana Sajjad Nomani on 19 November 2024, clarifying that he had not made any demands to the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in exchange for his support.
The post states, "Some friends in the media and some communal people are linking me to some Ulema Board or Council and saying that I had written a letter with 17 demands to the parties of the Maha Vikas Aghadi. I am neither the president nor a member of any Ulema Board or Council, nor have I written any such letter."
Conclusion: A fake newspaper clipping alleging Maulana Sajjad Nomani demanded the MVA to transfer religious and farmers' land to the Waqf Board is going viral online as real.
