BJP leader Babul Supriyo said he will file a civil and criminal defamation case against Saugata Roy,Tapas Paul and Nandini Pal for alleging that he was involved in the Rose Valley scam. He said he was already in conversation with lawyers.
He added that he didn’t want to make an issue of the attack on his house as everyone is safe but condemned the attack on BJP workers in West Bengal.
Trinamool Congress workers and supporters held protests outside the Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi and raised protests of ‘Modi hatao, desh bachao (remove Modi, save the nation). The protesters have been detained by Delhi Police.
Earlier today Union Minister and BJP member Babul Supriyo rubbished accusations that he was involved in the Rose Valley chit fund scam.
He added that when the Communist Party was in power in West Bengal, hooliganism got a free hand, but TMC has taken it to another level.
The Trinamool Congress has declared that it will no longer support the GST. The move is a fallout of TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay’s arrest in the Rose Valley chit fund scam.
Senior leader Saugata Roy told ANI that the party will no longer cooperate with the Centre in rolling out the GST – and will continue their protests.
Moments after Bandyopadhyay was arrested on Tuesday, TMC followers attacked and vandalised the BJP office in Kolkata. The violence and protests continued on Wednesday and the BJP's office in Hooghly was set ablaze.
Roy said the party doesn’t support any attack on the BJP office:
Trinamool Congress supporters staged a massive rail-roko protest in Cooch Behar, West Bengal over arrest of Bandyopadhyay. Continuing their protests, they also created uproar outside Babul Supriyo’s house, a video of which he posted on Twitter.
