It was a big day in Tamil Nadu as 69.19% of eligible voters had turned up from 232 constituencies to cast their vote.

High rains in some areas dampened spirits with electoral authorities recommending for extension in voting time. Tensions ran high as opposing parties DMK and AIADMK workers clashed.

Exit polls have predicted a neck to neck competition between DMK and AIADMK with DMK coming out on top. BJP is yet to make its mark in the state with a predicted win of less than 4 seats.
