QCrime: In Two Cases, Two Minor Girls Raped by Juveniles in Delhi

1. Minor Girl Raped, Threatened by Juvenile Boy in New Delhi

A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her juvenile neighbour at his friend’s house in Ranhola area of west Delhi, following which the accused was detained on Sunday, police reported.

The victim alleged that on Wednesday the accused took her to his friend’s house on some pretext and raped her while his friend stood guard outside the room. She told her parents about the incident on Saturday and claimed that the accused had threatened her with dire consequences if she told anybody about what had happened.

2. Man Who Left Minor Daughters Rotting With Skin Condition, Arrested For 2-Year-Old Son’s Murder

The father of the two minor girls, who were rescued in a battered condition from a room in outer Delhi’s Samaypur Badli area, has been arrested and charged with murder of his two-year-old son. In a story that reeks of extreme parental apathy, vagaries of alcoholism, joblessness and poverty, 36-year-old Bunty Gupta, allegedly not only abandoned his minor daughters in a closed room with maggots infesting their body, but also killed his son by flinging him in the Munak Canal on 18 August.

3. 15-Year-Old Beaten to Death by Classmates Over Water

15-year-old Mohammad Azeem was allegedly killed by three of his classmates over a dispute on who would collect water first from a public tap in northeast Delhi’s Sriram Colony. Those present at the spot at the time of the incident had initially thought it was a minor scuffle but when Azeem collapsed, they realised it was serious. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

4. Minor Raped Several Times by Schoolmate and his Friends

A minor girl was allegedly raped several times in southeast Delhi’s Jamia Nagar area by her 16-year-old schoolmate and his friends, who also filmed the act and used it to blackmail her. The complainant who was allegedly in a relationship with the accused also claimed that she had been raped by him and his friends on several occasions in different places in the city.

5. Four Held for Smuggling Rs 1.34 Crore Foreign Currency

Four people were detained by customs and DRI officials from Chennai and Tiruchy airports with foreign currencies valued Rs 1.32 crore while they trying to smuggle out suspected hawala money on Saturday morning to Singapore.

Three passengers in Chennai were found carrying Rs 42 lakh worth foreign currency hidden in folded clothes in their baggage while at Tiruchy, airport officials found that foreign currency bundles, worth Rs 92 lakh, were kept meticulously concealed inside the bottom portion of two stroller bags.

6. Youth Strangled to Death in Honour Killing, Two Held

Two persons were arrested on Sunday by Loni police for allegedly killing a man who was reportedly in a relationship with the sister of one of the two accused. During interrogation Joginder and Monu confessed that on 22 August, they had smothered Pramod and smashed his face with a brick as the deceased was in a relationship with Joginder’s sister which he did not approve of.

7. Four Arrested for Mewat Double-Murder and Gang Rape Case

In a major breakthrough, the police arrested four accused of double murder and gang-rape case. The accused has been identified as Sandeep, Amarjeet Singh, Karamjeet Singh and Rahul. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) traced their whereabouts and they were arrested on Sunday by Mewat police. The accused had beaten the couple to death, and gangraped their two nieces. One of the rape victims is a minor. The accused fled with valuables including cash, jewellery and a vehicle.

8. Two Arrested for Setting up Arms Repairing Unit in Raipur

Two persons, including a homeopathy doctor, were arrested on Sunday for allegedly setting up an arms repairing and modification workshop in Raipur. A cache of weapons and ammunition, including a modified 315 bore rifle and a 12 bore gun, was recovered from the workshop established in a multi-storeyed house.

32 revolvers, 148 ‘live’ rounds of different guns, 529 empty cartridges, one box of gunpowder, 10 pieces of air gun parts, eight pieces of revolver grips, one air gun barrel, one rifle handle, one cutter machine, 20 bows, dummy guns and several tools and machines were recovered.

9. Robbers Kill One, Injure 7 in Mathura

A 16-year-old girl was killed and seven persons, including four women, were injured by robbers who decamped with jewellery and other valuables from their house in Pathak Mohalla in Mathura on Sunday. The robbers entered from backside of their house and attacked the family members and their tenants with sticks and iron rods. The robbers made away with valuables worth several thousand rupees, police said.
