Rupee Ends Higher At 70.02 Against Dollar On Friday

The rupee rebounded by 23 paise to close at 70.02 against the dollar on Friday after Brent crude oil prices receded from a six-month high of $75.60/barrel.

Yes Bank Posts Net Loss Of Rs 1,506.6 Crore For Q4

The country's fifth-largest private sector lender, Yes Bank Ltd on Friday reported a net loss of Rs 1,506.6 crore for the March 2019 quarter as provisions rose.

In the corresponding quarter last year, the company had posted a net profit of Rs 1,179.44 crore. CNBC-TV18 Polls had predicted a profit of Rs 952.2 crore for the quarter under review.

Man Gets Seven Years Of Imprisonment For Raping A Tribal Girl In Bhiwandi

A court in Thane has sentenced a 26-year-old Ashirwad Vishnu Patil to seven years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a tribal girl in Bhiwandi in 2016.

A special court judge P P Jadhav held Patil guilty under Indian Penal Code section 376 (rape) and relevant provisions the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and awarded the sentence on Monday.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.

The Chairman of Dharmanandan Diamonds Pvt Ltd, had hit the headlines in 2015 when he bought Modi's much- famed pinstripe suit for Rs 4.31 crore in a public auction here.

The police has reported that a complaint in this regard was registered at the Katargam police station of Surat on 22 April by the manager of Dharmanandan Diamonds, Kamlesh Kevadiya.

Delhi Police To Look Into Accusations Of Sexual Harassment Against IndiGo Pilot

The Delhi Police is probing into the allegations of sexual harassment made by a female cabin crew of budget carrier IndiGo against a senior pilot and is in the process of collecting evidence, including voice recording from the cockpit.

The police has registered a case after the complaint from a female cabin crew, wherein she said the incident happened on-board Bengaluru-Amritsar-Srinagar-Delhi flight on April 16.

Police also said that the accused pilot had applied for an anticipatory bail at a city court on April 24 but the plea was rejected by the court the next day.

Rupee Rises 16 Paise to 70.09 vs USD in Early Trade

The rupee appreciated 16 paise to 70.09 against the US dollar in opening trade on Friday, driven by positive opening in domestic equities and weakening greenback in overseas markets.

The rupee opened strong at 70.12 at the interbank forex market, then gained further ground to touch 70.09 per dollar, displaying gains of 16 paise against the greenback.

Forex dealers said easing crude prices, sustained foreign fund inflows and selling of the American currency by exporters supported the rupee.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has accused the United States of acting in "bad faith" during his Hanoi summit with President Donald Trump, and said peace on the peninsula depends on Washington, state media said on Friday, 26 April.
