Ex-PM Manmohan Singh Admitted to AIIMS; 'Condition Stable', Say AIIMS Officials

Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh was on Wednesday, 13 October, admitted to Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

According to ANI, AIIMS officials have confirmed that Dr Singh was admitted with fever and that his condition is stable. They said:

"Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi for evaluation of fever; his condition is stable."

Meanwhile, AICC Secretary Pranav Jha also took to Twitter to say that that there are some "unsubstantiated rumours" with regard to Dr Manmohan Singh's health.

"His (Dr Manmohan Singh's) condition is stable," Jha reiterated, adding that Dr Singh is undergoing routine treatment.

"We will share any updates as needed. We thank our friends in media for their concern."

Prayers and Wishes Pour In

From Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to Union Minister Hardeep Puri, many have taken to Twitter to wish the former Prime Minister a speedy recovery.

Earlier in April, the 89-year-old was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for the novel coronavirus. He was showing mild symptoms at the time and was admitted on 19 April as a "matter of precaution".

Later, on 29 April, Singh was reportedly discharged from the AlIMS Trauma Centre after having recovered.
