Andhra Pradesh has recorded 765 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 17,699 and the death toll to 218.
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner Anil Kumar has said that a complete lockdown will be in force from 8 pm on Saturday till 5 am on Monday in BBMP limits, as per the instructions of Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa.
"Sale of essential items will be allowed during the lockdown, including meat shops. Police action will be taken against people found roaming outside unnecessarily," he was quoted by ANI as saying.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday said that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
"This afternoon I felt a slight fever and immediately quarantined myself at home. I have now tested positive for Covid 19. By the grace of Allah, I feel strong and energetic. I will continue to carry on my duties from home. Please keep me in your prayers," he tweeted.
UP Rural Development Minister Rajendra Pratap Singh (Moti Singh) and his wife have been admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow after they tested positive for COVID-19, PTI reported on Saturday.
Odisha has reported 495 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally in the state to 8,601, reported ANI.
Rajasthan has reported 204 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths, taking the total number of cases to 19,256 and the death toll to 443, ANI reported.
The Centre on Saturday said that the recovery rate for COVID-19 in India has further improved to 60.80 percent, with the recoveries/deaths ratio standing at 95.48% : 4.52%.
