A Bajrang Dal spokesperson on Friday, 29 September, told Garba and Dandiya organisers to check Aadhaar cards at entry points to identify and keep out 'non-Hindus'.

The party’s media convener S Kailash told news agency ANI that these “unwanted situations” happen every year during the Navaratri season.

“Non-Hindus enter into these events in the name of Hindus and they try to do ‘love jihad’ with the girls playing Dandiya and Garba in the events.”

He said that several such complaints had been lodged with the police and people had been arrested, but the incidents continue to occur.

This time, he said, the Bajrang Dal has “educated” the event organisers about not letting ‘non-Hindus’ inside events.

Teams of Bajrang Dal workers have been formed to visit each of these events... and if any ‘non-Hindu’ is found, they will be handed over to the police, he added.

“Also, the event managers are hiring non-Hindu bouncers, which seems to be a main cause behind these miscreants entering the events. Another major lapse is lack of monitoring and control on who enters the events," he said.
