A bride-to-be was abducted by a group of armed men in Punjab’s Sri Muktsar Sahib area in the early hours of Friday, 25 January – her wedding day. The abduction was incidentally captured by a CCTV camera installed outside the parlour from where she was kidnapped.

The woman had been dropped off by her brothers at a salon in Ghas Mandi Chowk for her bridal make-up. While the girl was inside the parlour, a group of six men arrived in two cars, rushed inside and dragged her out, News18 reported.

As per the CCTV camera footage shared by the channel, the woman can be seen attempting to resist as the men drag her into the car.

Following the incident, the woman’s family lodged a complaint with the Sri Muktsar Sahib police and named two of the accused in the group, Talwinder Singh and Hadwonder Singh, who are said to be known to her, The Times of India reported.

Confirming this to the newspaper, Muktsar SSP Manjit Singh said the two abductors, Talwinder and Hadwonder, had been identified by police and on the basis of the CCTV camera footage, and that efforts were being made to nab the other four.
