Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted in praise of Dr Manmohan Singh on Thursday, 31 May, saying that India missed having an educated prime minister like he had been. In the same tweet, he also slipped in some criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by subtly referring to Modi’s lack of education.

In the same post, Kejriwal shared an article by The Wall Street Journal. The context for his comment was this article, which talks about how the rupee is the worst performing currency in Asia this year, a sign of India’s uncertain future and possible problems to follow.

Kejriwal’s comment implied that the country’s economy would have done better under an educated PM.

Kejriwal recently grabbed eyes on Twitter when he reached out to Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken on the platform after the latter posted a tweet on 29 May about his son’s CBSE results. Kejriwal replied to Maken’s post, congratulating his son on his performance. "Congratulations to the boy Ajay Maken ji. May Aujawi do well in life and may God fulfil all his dreams," he tweeted.

In response, Maken tweeted back thanking Kejriwal, saying, “As a parent, both of us know that nothing can be as joyful as basking in the reflected glory of academic accomplishments of our children!”

Kejriwal engaged in this friendly conversation despite Maken’s criticism of the Delhi government, terming the Class 10 CBSE examination results of Delhi's school as the "worst" in the past one decade.
