1. Sacking Not The Solution: Kapil Sharma Reacts to Sidhu Boycott

Comedian and star of The Kapil Sharma Show, Kapil Sharma has finally reacted to the controversy of Navjot Singh Sidhu allegedly being fired from the show over comments on the Pulwama attack. In a video shared by none other than Sidhu himself, Kapil is seen interacting with the media at an event in Chandigarh. This is what he had to say: “There should be a permanent solution to this problem. If sacking Sidhu Ji was a solution, then Sidhu Ji is smart enough to walk out of the show himself. So, people are being misled with hashtags like ‘#BoycottSidhu’ and ‘#BoycottKapilSharmaShow’. Right now one should focus on the genuine problem and the attention of the youth should not be taken away from the real issue.”

2. Here’s When Nagraj Manjule’s ‘Jhund’ Starring Big B Will Release

The makers of the upcoming film Jhund starring Amitabh Bachchan have announced the release date along with sharing a first look of the film. Jhund is Marathi director Nagraj Manjule’s Hindi debut. Nagraj has earlier directed the critically acclaimed Fandry and the hugely successful Sairat. Sairat was remade in Hindi last year as Dhadak by director Shashank Khaitan with Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the news, writing, “Release date finalised... #Jhund, starring Amitabh Bachchan and directed by #Sairat director Nagraj Manjule, to release on 20 Sept 2019... Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Raaj Hiremath, Savita Raj Hiremath and Nagraj Manjule.”

3. Salman Khan Drops Atif Aslam Song From ‘Notebook’ After Pulwama?

Following the All Indian Cine Workers Association's (AICWA) ban on collaboration with Pakistani artistes after 40 CRPF Jawans were killed in the deadly Pulwama attack last week, several reports have claimed that Salman Khan has dropped a song sung by Atif Aslam - in his upcoming film, Notebook. A large part of the shoot for the movie, which has been produced by Salman Khan Films, was shot in Kashmir in October and November last year.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, the track that was sung by Atif Aslam for Notebook, is to be re-recorded in a few days. The Notebook team also announced that it would also be contributing Rs 22 lakh to the families of the jawans who were martyred in the attack.

4. A Masterpiece of Modern Times: KJo Reviews ‘Gully Boy’

Zoya Akhtar directorial Gully Boy has been lauded by audiences and critics alike - rapper and actor Will Smith included - since it hit theatres on 14 February. Karan Johar took to Instagram to shower effusive praise on the Ranveer Singh starrer calling it “a cult classic that has possibly the best ensemble of actors we have seen this decade”.

He called Zoya Akhtar a “bonafide magician” and wrote, “When passion supersedes grass root realities...when dreams make you wake up to bigger dreams....when you wrap rap into a form of solid expression....when you tell a story that has all this and more....that’s when you have a film that you can assuredly call a MASTERPIECE of modern times!

5. We Were Making Each Other Very Unhappy: Malaika on Arbaaz

Malaika Arora recently opened up about her relationship with former husband Arbaaz Khan in an appearance on Kareena Kapoor’s radio show What Women Want. Speaking about her marriage and subsequent divorce the actor said, “We did think about a lot of things and weighed every single pro and con. And then we decided, it’s better off that we move our separate ways because we’d just be better people. Because we were two people in a situation making each other extremely unhappy which was impacting everybody else’s life around us.”
