Two BJP workers were shot on Saturday night, 11 May, in Bhagabanpur, East Medinipur. The injured, identified as Ananta Guchait and Ranjit Maity, were admitted to a hospital.

Medinapur is amongst the many constituencies which is polling today, 12 May, in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Meanwhile, the body of a Trinamool worker was found in Kanthi's Mardhara area on Sunday morning, reported India Today. The area comes under the Contai constituency.

In Jhargram, a booth-level BJP worker Raman Singh was found dead on Saturday night, reported the media channel.

BJP has alleged that he was attacked by Trinamool workers. The Trinamool Congress has denied any links to his death.

However, police have reported that the preliminary probe showed there were no physical injury marks. The man had a seizure, which caused his death, reported India Today. BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya alleged that Trinamool workers entered his home and killed him, reported News Nation.

There have been several clashes between the BJP and Trinamool Congress workers in the last few days.
