The total number of samples tested for COVID-19 in India up till 3 August stands at 2,08,64,750, including 6,61,182 samples tested on Monday, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said on Tuesday.

Odisha has reported 1,384 new COVID-19 cases and nine fatalities, taking the tally in the state to 37,681 and the death toll to 216.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has tested negative for COVID-19, while two members of his family have contracted the disease, PTI reported on Tuesday.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Tuesday that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and has also been admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors as a precaution.

The Centre on Tuesday briefed the media on the current COVID-19 situation in the country,.
“More than 2 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted, including more than 6.6 lakh tests in the last 24 hours. Recovered cases are now double of the active cases. The case fatality rate is lowest since the first lockdown,” Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, Ministry of Health said as quoted by ANI.
“This is the first time after the first lockdown that the fatality rate is at the lowest, at 2.10%. Fatality rate has seen a progressive decline and it is continuing, which is a good sign,” he added.
Delhi reported 674 new COVID-19 cases today. The total positive cases have risen to 1,39,156 including 1,25,226 recovered/discharged/migrated cases and 4,033 deaths.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa continues to remain stable since his admission and has been responding to treatment, Manipal Hospital, Bengaluru said in a statement.
At least 390 new COVID19 cases were reported in Jammu and Kashmir today. The total number of cases in the Union Territory is now at 22,396, including 417 deaths.
