Apple has unveiled its premium gaming service called Apple Arcade at its gala event in Cupertino. The new service will allow Apple users to play games across all of Apple’s devices – from the iPhones to the iPads and Macs, ad free and offline by paying a subscription amount that the company is yet to disclose.

Now, this is not the same as the cloud-gaming concepts we have seen recently from the likes of Google and Microsoft. Instead, Apple’s gaming service isn’t designed to stream games to iOS devices. It’s a subscription game service for titles that can be installed directly from the App Store.

‘Arcade’ will be a separate section on the Apple App Store that will house the 100+ premium games, with more to come over time, that Apple has developed in partnership with some prominent developers. These games are going to be exclusive to Apple Arcade and will not be available for any other platform.

The company has also said that these games will not be available on any other platform and subscribers will be able to try the games whenever they want. There will be a special tab on the App Store for Arcade and downloadable games.

Apple Arcade will become available for Apple users this fall and will be available in more than 150 countries.

With more than 300,000 game titles already on the App store, the Arcade service is also aiming to curate some of the best of the lot for the Arcade subscription.

These games will be playable across all apple operating systems and the user can pick up from where they left off from any device. Yes, the game will save everywhere – just log on from any device and pick up from where you left off.
