Xiaomi launches new Redmi Flagship K20 and K20 pro phones in India and here’s everything you need to know about them

Xiaomi has launched its much awaited Redmi K20 and K20 pro in India on Wednesday. Both of these phones were made available in China few months back and in India, these have been priced starting from Rs 21,999 and Rs 27,999 respectively.

The new phones will feature a 20 megapixel pop-up front camera, which has been adopted by brands like OnePlus, Vivo and Huawei among other. It also sports in-display fingerprint scanner built underneath the 6.3 inch Full HD+ screen.

On the specifications side, the K20 pro comes loaded with the top of the line Snapdragon 855 chipset while the K20 gets its power from the new Snapdragon 730 chipset. The K20 Pro will be available in multiple variants, with up to 8GB RAM in tow.

On the back is triple mounted camera system which includes a 48 megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.75 aperture, a 13 megapixel wide angle lens and an 8 megapixel f/2.4 lens

The K20 and the K20 Pro comes with up to 256 GB of storage and loaded with a 4,000 mAh battery with fast charging support of 27 watt on the K20 Pro and 18 watt for the K20.

  • 6+ 128GB - Rs 27,999
  • 8+256GB - Rs 30,999

Redmi K20 Prices:

  • 6+64GB - Rs 21,999
  • 6+128GB - Rs 23,999

Both the phones will be running on Android Pie with the MIUI 10 skin over it.

From the marketing push and the aforementioned prices, it’s clear that the K20 and K20 Pro place themselves in a position to rival against the One Plus 7 and 7 Pro, both of them costing Rs 32,999 and Rs 48,999 respectively in the Indian market.

History suggests that Xiaomi doesn’t fare well with products priced above 25K, so it’ll be interesting to see if the K Series changes that trend for the company.
