Hyundai’s much awaited upgrade of Creta SUV is here and most of what you’re getting is a cosmetic makeover that looks to match up with the competition.

Features have become the go-to strategy for car makers, which they believe is good enough to lure consumers into buying their product. Toyota has done that recently with its Yaris sedan, and even other brands will be following the same path.

The new Creta SUV has been priced starting from Rs 9.43 lakh (ex-showroom in Delhi) for the 1.6-litre petrol variant, going up to Rs 15.03 lakh for the 1.6-litre diesel model.

Cosmetically, the car looks refreshed with cascade design front grille, dual-tone front and rear bumpers, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, split tail lamps and shark fin antenna also makes its way.

Hyundai finally is giving support for platforms like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which can be accessed via the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system on board. The 1.6-litre petrol engine offers 123PS of power, while the 1.6-litre diesel unit throws 128PS of power.

For safety, Creta 2018 gets six airbags, ABS, EBD which are a standard now. The upgrade puts Hyundai in a position to go up against, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and even the Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
