In the last 48 hours, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has exited from his Mahagathbandhan, switched to the rival NDA and left RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav fuming. Amid all of this, state BJP leader Sushil Modi was sworn-in as Kumar’s top aide – the deputy chief minister.

Now what would happen if an old tweet by Mr Modi, criticising Kumar, was to resurface on Twitter?

A Twitter mock-fest, of course.

Modi had on 12 February 2015 called out Kumar’s “drama of resignation”, the irony of which wasn’t left unnoticed by Tweeple, especially in the current context.

This is the third time that Modi will be serving under Kumar.

In fact, he’s always been viewed as Kumar’s man; he’s even been mocked for playing ‘second fiddle’ to him.

The two share a bonhomie that can be traced back to the mid-1970s when, along with Lalu, they mobilised the students movement against the Emergency under Jayaprakash Nayaran’s leadership.
