What's the truth?: This claim is misleading. He won the NYC mayoral election primary but not the mayoral general elections yet.

• Mamdani has now emerged as the democratic party’s official nominee.

• How did we find out the truth?: We performed a relevant keyword search on Google which led us to several reports stating that the former Governor Andrew Cuomo lost New York City's Democratic mayoral primary to Mamdani.

• Reports shared by India Today, BBC, Mint, NDTV, Hindustan Times

• stated that Mamdani has secured a victory in New York City's Democratic mayoral primary and has now emerged as the party’s official nominee.

• It also stated that he will become the city's first Muslim mayor with Indian roots.

• The elections are to be held in November 2025.

His party also shared a post after Mamdani won the elections as a nominee.
