How did we find out the truth?: We performed a reverse image search on the viral image which led us to the same image featured in an article published by Aeroflap, Alert 5 and Dialogo Americas in December 2021.

  • The headline read, “Chilean Navy trains the first woman aviator in its history.”

  • The report further identified the pilot as Lieutenant Daniela Figueroa Scholz who became the first ever woman to become a Naval Aviator in the Chile.

  • We also performed a keyword search but found no credible reports confirming that Iran has captured an Israeli pilot named Sarah Ahronot, as mentioned in the claim.

Conclusion: An unrelated image of a Chilean pilot is being falsely shared as Israeli pilot captured by Iran.
