  • In the video, a man, seemingly a ticket collector, was seen accepting money from a girl on a train while grabbing her hand inappropriately.

(Archives of similar claims can be found here and here.)

Is the claim true?: No, the claim is false as this is a scripted video.

  • The creator of this video included a disclaimer in the original video stating that it was for awareness purposes.

What we found: At first, we looked up news reports if such an incident had happened in India, recently. However, we did not find any reports suggesting that the claim could be true.

  • Team WebQoof, then, divided the video into multiple screenshots and ran a Google reverse image search on some of them.

  • The results led us to an Instagram page of 'official raj thakur.' The post featured the same clip as the viral video.

  • It's caption read, "Did this to the girl when she didn't have a ticket." However, we, then noticed a disclaimer or note of sorts at the bottom which read:

"This Video Is Totally Scripted Not Real All Content Just For Entertainment Purpose And Awareness Not Hate Speech (sic)."
  • We went through the creator's profile and found similar videos like the viral clip which showed some kind of awareness message.

  • The creator of this page, Raj Thakur, also uploaded a video of himself stating that all the videos on his profile were 'scripted,' when another one of his skits went viral and did not include the full context.

Team WebQoof has previously debunked similar scripted videos. You can read them here and here.

Conclusion: A scripted video showing a railway employee 'misbehaving' with a girl has gone viral as a real incident.
