An image of a damaged stadium is being circulated on the internet with a claim that it shows the recent condition of Pakistan's Rawalpindi Stadium following Operation Sindoor.
Who shared it?: An X (formerly Twitter) user called '@MithilaWaala', who has been previously called out for spreading disinformation on multiple occasions, shared the image with a caption saying "Rawalpindi stadium. #OperationSindoor."
What is the truth?: The image has been generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and does not show a real visual.
What about the viral image?: At first, we noticed that the structure of the stadium looked a bit different from the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
To further verify this, we compared the viral image to a stock visual of the Pakistani stadium.
The comparison below clearly shows that the differences between the Rawalpindi stadium and the viral image.
What did detection tools show?: Team WebQoof passed through two detection tools namely — 'Sight Engine' and 'Hive Moderation'.
While the first tool showed 99 percent chance, the second one depicted over 88 percent probability of the image being AI-generated.

Conclusion: It is evident that the image is AI-generated and does not show a real visual.
