A video showing two people standing on the roof of a building, pelting stones at a Ganesh immersion procession passing by, is being widely shared on social media.
The claim: A section of social media users have claimed that it shows people from the Muslim community pelting stones at the Hindu festival procession in Hassan, Karnataka.
How do we know?: We conducted a reverse image search on the video using Google Lens, which led us to an X post by Kannada news organisation Kannada Prabha.
It mentioned that the incident took place at Raichur's Ganga Niwas Road and that two accused, Prashant and Praveen, had been arrested.
We looked for more information with the keywords "raichur stone pelting," which led us to a video report by Tv9 Kannada, which carried the same video as the claim.

It said that stones were pelted at people in the immersion procession and not the idol on 31 August, injuring two people identified as Vinay and Ganesh, adding that the incident took place over "old enmity."
The same details were also corroborated by a News18 Kannada report.
Fact-checking organisation Factly reached out to the Raichur Sadar Bazaar police, who "confirmed that the incident had no religious angle, and both groups involved were Hindus."
The police clarified to Factly that stones were thrown at people, and not the idol.
Stone pelting at Ganesh processions: While this video is being shared with a false claim, we came across multiple news reports about stones being pelted at a Ganesh visarjan procession in Maddur, in Karnataka's Mandya district.
Police imposed section 144 of the Indian Penal Code after reports about stone pelting came to light, which happened on 7 September, as per Hindustan Times.
It left at least eight people injured, and police detained 21 people in connection to the pelting, The News Minute reported.
