How did we find out the truth?: We performed a reverse image search on some of the keyframes of the viral video which led us to a YouTube video by AP Archive.

  • This video matched exactly with the viral clip and was shared on 5 February 2017.

  • AP's watermark can also be seen on the top right corner in the viral clip.

  • The description stated that the video is from 31 January 2017, when Saeed was placed under house arrest in Pakistan along with four aides.

  • The results also led us to a report shared by India Today on 6 February 2017 and this also carried the same video.

  • Taking a cue, we found more reports about this media interaction shared by BBC, Arab News and The Economic Times.

Conclusion: An old video is going viral to claim that Hafiz Saeed held a press conference after ceasefire announcement linked to India and Pakistan conflict.
