A video showing news bulletins of ABP News broadcasting opinion polls' results predicting Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) landslide victory in Delhi elections is going viral.
- The claim says in Hindi, "ABP survey predicts 58 to 60 seats for Aam Aadmi Party; AAP- 58-60 seats, BJP - 10-12 seats, Congress - 0; Key findings from the survey: Delhiites are voting against goons; Nearly 75% women are voting for Kejriwal; The magic is intact, Kejriwal is returning. (sic)"
- This comes after Delhi went to polls of Wednesday, 5 February.
How did we find out the truth?: We checked ABP News' official X (formerly Twitter) account to see whether they have posted this video.
- However, we did not find any such report or post about a survey showcasing these numbers.
- We did find a dismissal from the media outlet which clarified that this video is fake.
- It stated, "A fake video is being circulated on social media in the name of ABP News. No such opinion poll has been conducted by ABP News."
- We then performed a reverse image search on some of the keyframes of the video video on Google which led us to the original bulletin on ABP News.
- This was shared on their YouTube channel on 28 January 2025 and the anchor is seen talking about Rahul Gandhi's participating in the election campaign rally.
- It does not mention anything about Kejriwal or any survey predicting AAP's win.
Audio spoof analysis: We scanned the video on AI-detection tools, Contrails AI, and the results confidently marked this as fake.
- It concluded that there are clear signs of AI based manipulation in the audio.
Conclusion: A fake survey in the name of ABP News' predicting AAP's landslide victory in Delhi elections is going viral online.
