The call was initiated by the US side to express condolences and outrage over the Pulwama attack by Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM).Ambassador Bolton supported India's right to self-defence against cross-border terrorism. He offered all assistance to India to bring the perpetrators and backers of the attack promptly to justice. The agenda for the meeting will be to reach a unanimous decision on India’s next course of action.The meeting was announced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, after the CCS meeting on Friday that decided on dropping the most favoured nation status for Pakistan. This will be the first all-party-meeting under the PM Modi-led NDA government.The last time an all-party meeting was held in the backdrop of a terror attack was in September 2016, when the government decided to brief all the parties after it had carried out surgical strikes across LoC. Pakistan cannot claim that it is unaware of their presence and their activities. They have not taken any action against these groups despite international demands, especially against groups and individuals proscribed by the UN and other countries.
