The Allahabad High Court on Thursday, 12 October, acquitted Rajesh and Nupur Talwar for the 2008 murder of their daughter, Aarushi, and house help, Hemraj. The Talwars were serving life sentences in Ghaziabad’s Dasna jail

The verdict came as a surprise, and Twitterati had mixed reactions to it. Some were left wondering who murdered the teenager.

Barkha Dutt and Omar Abdullah also expressed concerned over the initial investigation.

Rituparna Chatterjee felt the media tainted Talwars’ public image.

On the other hand, actor Kabir Bedi and Vikram Bhatt were happy with the verdict.
