Gang Raped 17-Year-Old for Over 10 Days at a Bengaluru Lodge
A 17-year-old girl was found in Whitefield lodge by the Bengaluru police on 4 November, 10 days after she went missing. Four men, including the owner of the lodge, kidnapped the girl on 26 October and repeatedly raped her. All four of the accused have been arrested and are currently in judicial custody, reports Bangalore Mirror.
The victim, a PU student, had been invited by a friend to attend a party after college. The latter had asked to meet near the Whitefield Station in the evening, so they could head for the party together. However, when the victim reached the station, she couldn’t find her friend and instead found two men, who introduced themselves as Raghavendra and Sagar, and claimed that her friend had ‘sent’ them to guide her to the party.
She remained in captivity for 10 days, till the Bengaluru police were able to track her down through a tip-off that said they had seen a girl in distress at a lodge in Whitefield.
The girl was found on 4 November and underwent a series of medical tests, alongside which she gave a detailed statement. The police started tracking down the four accused and making the arrests from 6 November. All four were made to undergo medical tests, which confirmed that they had raped the victim.
The police registered a case under Sections 376D (gang rape); 368 (wrongfully concealing or keeping in confinement, kidnapped or abducted person); 363 (kidnapping); 343(wrongful confinement if any person for three days, or more); 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace); 506 (criminal intimidation), of IPC along with Sections 4 and 6 of POCSO Act.
The four have been arrested and are currently under judicial custody, Abul Ahad, DCP of the Whitefield Division, confirmed with Bangalore Mirror.
A few days ago, a 19-year-old college girl in Bhopal had been tied up under a bridge and raped by four men, who took breaks for tea and gutka before returning to assault her repeatedly.
