Dera Sacha Sauda Chief and rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim Insan has listed 10 names on his visitors list, and his wife Harjeet Kaur does not feature in it.
The names include Honeypreet Insan, the Dera chief's adopted daughter, his daughters, and sons-in-law, his son and daughter-in-law, his mother, Dera chairperson Vipasana, and long-time loyalist Daan Singh.
Ram Rahim reportedly got married to his wife Harjeet when he was 17, and has two daughters and a son from the marriage.
The police has issued a lookout notice against Honeypreet Insan, on account of her being Gurmeet's close aide, to ensure that she doesn't flee the country.
Gurmeet reportedly submitted the visitors list on Monday, so the police can verify their background and facilitate meetings in the jail, when necessary. However, it might be a while before Gurmeet gets to meet any of his visitors as none of the named persons are in Dera premises anymore, delaying the verification process.
Souces told TOI that all except for Vipasana have left the Dera premises following Gurmeet’s conviction.
As the police party headed by Sirsa Station Officer could not meet the named persons, the process is expected to be delayed by at least a week, reported the daily.
Ram Rahim has complained of uneasiness since his arrest last week. He was convicted by the special CBI court on two counts of rape, and sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment.
