Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s closeness to his so-called daughter Honeypreet Insan is well known by now. What’s probably not known is that Honeypreet served as the self-styled godman’s caretaker, masseuse and physiotherapist.
Ram Rahim has appealed the special CBI court in Panchkula to allow Honeypreet in his jail so that she can take care of him. Honeypreet, too, had filed an application, but her request was rejected.
Ram Rahim has complained of uneasiness since his arrest last week. He was convicted by the special CBI court on two counts of rape, and sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment.
Ram Rahim has not asked for any of his family members, but only his ‘adopted daughter’, according to an India Today report.
‘Baba Cried All Night’
Swadesh Kirad, a Dalit leader who was in a room next to Ram Rahim’s, said that as he was upset over the verdict against him, the godman cried all night in his prison cell.
Honeypreet on the Run
On Friday, Haryana police issued a lookout notice against Honeypreet after she went missing following Ram Rahim’s sentencing.
It is alleged that Honeypreet, who has been charged with sedition for creating violence following Ram Rahim’s conviction and allegedly conspiring to help her father escape prison, has escaped to Nepal.
However, CNN News18 later reported that Honeypreet was traced to be in Gurugram where she used her internet dongle. The report added that the police conducted raids on Friday night. Dera PRO Aditya Insan is also reportedly present with her and the two have been on the run since 2-3 days.
