Leave Zaira Alone: An Enraged Twitter Defends the ‘Dangal’ Actor

Twitter comes out in Zaira Wasim’s support, thankfully.

Zaira Wasim, a girl from the hinterlands of Jammu and Kashmir made it big in 2016 – she acted alongside Aamir Khan in the critically and commercially acclaimed Dangal.

The movie represented a woman’s struggle against the clutches of patriarchy to fight for her rights. Ironically, the actor who impersonated wrestler Geeta Phogat is being forced to apologise for reasons known best to the self appointed moral custodians of society.
