We were doing the same old mundane stuff at work when we noticed two people cleaning our office windows, wearing chappals, and no safety gear in this scorching heat.
These people had a bucket of water that was hanging around their waist, while they were going down the window, hanging on a rope.
As it sparked our curiosity, we rushed downstairs to have a word with these unsung heroes.

Speaking with the window cleaner, we got to know how difficult it is for them to do a job that we rarely pay heed to.
With their feet swollen due to the constant pressure of keeping their chappals intact, the weight still doesn’t bow them down. Each time they climb up the stairs, they are risking their lives.
Even though one person has lost his life, no security measures have been taken.
Hanging in the middle of air, they are literally playing with their lives.
Take a look at the way these people clean the windows, hanging from a rope.
The Value of Human Life
There are proper window cleaning lifts which are not provided to them. In India, almost always, people are seen cleaning windows in a similar manner.
The scorching heat makes it difficult for them to do their work while they are cleaning the windows, and no proper footwear is provided to them either. Even after numerous complaints, they told us that no one listened to them.
Is the value of human life so little that nothing is done for the safety of these people?
