‘Netflix and chill’ may have been the thing all cool kids did back in 2015, but it came to India only in 2016.
Since they couldn’t go with the phrase that became their unofficial tagline, they found the er... next best thing to promote the service in India, by releasing promos with comedians Tanmay Bhat, Sumukhi Suresh and Utsav Chakraborty.
Bhat features as the “most tipped” pizza “pohonch chuka hai” boy in India. He hilariously transforms into Tanmay EscoBhat as he delivers the pizza to a customer who didn’t tip him.
We can all now make “plata o plomo” the next thing to quote from the series apart from “puta”.
Sumukhi Suresh also stars in an ad with Ustav Chakraborty, which features Netflix’s other really popular show Orange Is The New Black.
She stars as Chakraborty’s household help who gets away with... anything (and maybe even murder?)
With shows to binge-watch all the time, who wouldn’t get hooked?
Plus the possibility of avoiding all human contact while watching TV, who doesn’t like the sound of that?
