The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is proving – time and again – that they’ve got our backs. The official Twitter handle of the police force – one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces of India – posted a video on Thursday evening, 4 July, in which ITBP personnel can be seen holding off stones on a snow-clad slope, shielding Amarnath yatris from the torrent.

The Amarnath temple is considered to be one of the holiest shrines for believers. The yatra starts at Pahalgam or Baltal, in Jammu and Kashmir, and the shrine is situated at an altitude of 3,888 m.

The ‘Sentinels of the Himalayas’ have been in the news consistently for helping out pilgrims, mountaineers and others, leading to an outpour of appreciation on social media. Take a look!
