Making a day that had already been good for Indian sports even better, Kidambi Srikanth’s assertive victory over South Korean veteran Lee Hyung Il in the Denmark Open Superseries final put Twitter into a congratulatory frenzy.
Srikanth, who is Lee’s junior by 12 years, won the match in two games that lasted a total of 25 minutes.
Twitter had nothing but love for the ace.
Many users also thought the victories in hockey and badminton were enough to dispel any sadness over the loss in cricket.
Is this proof India is, perhaps, moving on from being a country solely focused on cricket? Let us know in the comments.
