The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled Team India’s alternate jersey on social media. And Twitter is not gonna ‘run out’ of jokes about the team’s new uniform any time soon!
Orange is The New Black Blue?
While the technical reason behind the second uniform is that the Indian team needed to have a second choice jersey for the World Cup as per ICC's home and away rule, the dominance of orange in the uniform seems to have hit a sticky wicket!
The navy-blue-orange jersey was officially unveiled by the India captain prior to their match against England in Birmingham on 30 June. But the Indian skipper made sure to mention that the team would not be “permanently we'd be heading in that direction because blue has always been our colour, very proud to wear that.”
That aside, if this was the reason for the Indian team to choose orange and blue, we are all rooting for it!
Dho dala!
