Subramanian Swamy Gets Trolled on Twitter
Rajya Sabha MP and BJP member Subramanian Swamy got trolled on Twitter on Friday when he urged Indians based in the US to support Donald Trump after the US President came under fire for his unequivocal response to the Charlottesville violence.
The former Union Cabinet Minister was then replied to by a fake Donald Trump account (@DonaldTrumpSir), which he mistakenly believed to be the US President’s actual account. Swamy showed more support to the fake Trump in another tweet.
Even after being informed by another user that the Twitter account Swamy was engaging with was merely a parody account, Swamy refused to believe it and instead asked that the US Homeland Security be called in for an investigation into the matter.
Swamy’s original tweet earned him ridicule for not tagging Trump’s official handle and for making such a comment in the first place.
After the response from the @DonaldTrumpSir account and Swamy’s subsequent response, the MP became a subject of Twitter jest not only for failing to realize his mistake, but also for coming out in support of Trump in the first place.
Swamy has been in the news before for his rather bizarre comments.
