Anil Kumble, India’s current head coach and the former Test skipper, celebrates his 46th birthday on 17 October. The leg-spinner from Karnataka is only the second bowler after England’s great Jim Laker to take 10 wickets in a single innings of a Test match. He achieved this historic feat against Pakistan in Delhi in 1999.
Being the third highest wicket-taker in Test cricket history with 619 scalps to his name, Kumble is certainly India’s most decorated bowler in the white jersey.
