We know you’ve had enough of Tanmay Bhat to last you a lifetime, but this one’s worth a (re)thought!

We don’t really know how often Arnab Goswami successfully taps into the collective consciousness and speaks on behalf of the entire nation, but this time, perhaps, the nation REALLY wants to know! Goswami questioned the desired urgency Tanmay’s “offensive” Snapchat story demands as compared to the drought in Maharashtra.

About 50 minutes into the debate, while talking to BJP leader Shaina NC, Arnab decided to start from scratch. He started reading out the basic definition for Snapchat. The skeletal know-what of the mobile application, being described as one where messages don’t stay for more than 24 hours, seemed to strongly drive his point home. We have a million things to worry about; a post on a mobile app based on transcience, being the least of them.

Yesterday’s News Hour Debate was quite the usual clamour, peppered with copious doses of Arnab’s vice-like grip over, well, everything. However, amidst all this, the one-man army shelled out quite reasonable arguments, calling out the complete redundancy of legal action against Tanmay ,when the country has more pressing issues to deal with.

The blurry line of distinction between what’s offensive and what’s not has been getting royally roasted for quite some time in our country. Everyone has something to say, but do we support each other’s right to say so?

The nation, along with Mr Goswami, wants to know.

Here’s a low-down on the entire situation.
