Have you ever experienced or witnessed a random and unintentional act of kindness, showered on you by a total stranger? Or are you one of those who believe that no unknown person will ever come to lend a hand in your hour of need?

Some more users on question-and-answer site Quora have shared their experiences where a stranger has come to their rescue, and in other instances, where they have taken the effort to help out someone in need.

Evan Asano recollects how during his college years, when he couldn’t afford to get his car repaired, it used to break down often.

It was often a helpless feeling, staring at my car stuck in empty parking lot at night, wondering how I would get home. Inevitably, someone would just pull up and ask if they could help. I was amazed every time someone stopped to help.

Amy Kline-Rodriguez, who went through an abusive relationship, revealed how once during an increasingly violent argument in public, a "thin, athletic-looking black woman" came to her rescue. Kline-Rodriguez wrote:

She took the phone away from her ear and shouted at my boyfriend like it was her purpose on earth to stick up for others. “What the hell are you doing to her?” “What is your f***ing problem?” “Leave her alone!” Even now I get choked up and cry in gratitude. All these years later and that was one of the kindest things anyone has done for me. It inspired me.

A heart warming experience was shared by Ruchika Nayyar, who had been recently discharged from hospital with her nine-week old baby. She stepped out of the hospital only to find a parking ticket on her car.

However, she also found a note wrapped up inside which said: “Hi there, I saw your car had a parking ticket on it. I'm sure whatever you're going through at hospital is tough enough, so I have paid for you. Receipt #, paid on Sunday 08/08/15 at 11:05 am. Hope things get better!!”
