Arvind Kejriwal is a busy man. And that’s not because he’s the Delhi Chief Minister. News is that he has been spending two-three hours of quality time, every couple of weeks,warming up the movie theatre seats.
That’s probably his way to de-stress from all the trouble he’s landed himself into lately. What with the internal AAP fiasco and the women’s safety debates, endlessly begging the Centre to hand over the command of Delhi Police to the state, to actually begging for money for his party’s survival, Kejriwal has had a full plate. Phew!
Give the man a break! Delhiwallo you have the right to question ‘Humara’ Arvind for being on a movie marathon but trolling him is so unfair.

Entertainment, Entertainment, Entertainment
Like any other responsible aam aadmi, Kejriwal too is contributing to his state in the form of entertainment tax. And why shouldn’t he be? The AAP government has increased the entertainment tax from 20% to 40%. Hopefully, Kejriwal will be struck by newfound realisation of exactly how expensive going to the movies is, now that he’s a regular. After all, for a man who carries just Rs 500 in his pocket, this might be too heavy for his wallet.
Filmy Inspiration
Bollywood has served as inspiration (whether good or bad) to countless folks and ‘humara’ Arvind is one of them. We have only to look at his current slew of activities to know that. Kejriwal has taken a leaf out of Vijay Salgaonkar’s book in Drishyam where the latter battles it out with the cops. Our beloved CM too is doing the same with the Delhi Police in the Capital. The Aamir Khan-starrer PK clearly also left a deep and indelible impression on the CM’s mind. A humanoid alien trying to bring a change to the system? Now where have we heard that before? Of course, unlike the big-eared Aamir alien in the film, Kejriwal miserably failed.
Film Critic
It’s always a healthier option to look at alternative career options. We suspect this is exactly what Arvind Kejriwal is doing. He’s either looking for a career as a film critic or gearing up to replace FTII chairman Gajendra Chauhan. We are bored though of reading his same old words of appreciation about each film he watches. Sir, move past the “excellent” and “amazing”, please.
Aaj Mausam Bada Beimaan Hai…
Like a politician, Delhi weather too is highly unpredictable. It drizzles when the sky is overcast, and rains when the sun looks determined to emerge from behind the clouds. Now, obviously, completely baffled as he is by the weather gods’ antics, Kejriwal has stopped holding dharnas. And without his prime source of recreation, he’s got plenty of time to kill!
