PepsiCo Bans “Kurkure has Plastic” Jokes, Tweeple Make More Memes

PepsiCo demands deletion of “Kurkure has plastic” jokes, Twitter erupts with even more memes.

With rising rates of plastic pollution, PepsiCo is trying its best to curb tweets and posts that claim or joke about the ‘fact’ that Kurkure has plastic.

According to a report by MediaNama, PepsiCo has obtained an interim order from the Delhi High Court to delete hundreds of posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube that say that Kurkure has plastic. .

The civil defamation suit compiles years of posts on the social media platforms, demanding that they be taken down.

According to the report, about 3412 Facebook links, 20244 Facebook posts, 242 YouTube videos, 6 Instagram links, and 562 tweets that have been ordered removed.

This lawsuit had sort of an equal and opposite reaction, since Twitter went produced even more memes after the order.
