Participating in a lip-sync battle cost a female Airport Security Force officer from Pakistan increments for the next two years, after a video of her grooving to a Punjabi song went viral.
The officer, working at the Sialkot Airport, lost increments for violating the ASF’s code of conduct, prohibiting its employees from using social media, Dawn reported.
The action against the female officer triggered reactions from several on Twitter.
While some justified the action taken by authorities at Sialkot airport, several reacted in the officer’s favour by defending her actions in personal life and called the penalising by officials “absurd.”
Responding to the news, some people raked up the morality of officer, arguing that “a lady must be disciplined in every force”. Others, objected to the video, pointing out that the officer was wearing the uniform and the actions of the officials.
'This Would Never to Male ASF Officer’
People took to Twitter, asserting that action was taken against the officer because she was a woman. “This would have never happened to a male officer,” a Twitter user wrote.
