An app called Haptik just made Father’s Day especially fun for everyone, not just dads. The app, which acts as a personal assistant you can chat with, set up a grumpy old Indian papa assistance bot.

So for whatever you ask the bot – aptly called ‘The Baap’ – there’s an angry daddy rejoinder from the app.

From a constant volley of suspicious questions, to complaining you do no work, the app really seems to have captured the essence of a stereotypical Indian dad. Except it’s funny and not infuriating when this Baap, and not your own, picks on you.

Here are some excerpts from the chat we had with The Baap.

You thought you could distract papa by inviting him for a movie, but you can’t.

You can have this colourful conversation with The Baap, and see for yourself. It’s eerily close to real life.
