Just like everyone else, Nidhi Mahajan’s elimination from MasterChef Australia Season 8 was overwhelming for us too. Nidhi not only impressed the judges of the show with her cooking skills, but she also brought a tint of Indian culture to the show by touching the judges’ feet out of respect.

Saying goodbyes is always hard, and when Nidhi Mahajan said her last goodbye to her MasterChef AU family, she made everyone cry with her way of showing gratitude.

The whole experience of being in MasterChef is something that she will cherish throughout her life. Just when the judges of the show were telling her how much she will be missed, she asked them if she can touch their feet as a mark of respect. And as she bowed down to touch the feet of her teachers, she filled our eyes with tears.

It not only made us cry, but also proud of this beautiful Indian woman. Being miles apart from her hometown, she has made each one of us bloat our chest with pride.

As they say, you can never take India out of an Indian, Nidhi’s gesture of of touching the judges’ feet out of respect was a perfect example of this.

Nidhi, with her splendid cooking skills managed to impress the judges so much that Marco Pierre White, the father of modern British cooking, wished that she would open her restaurant where he lives so that he could enjoy her food every week.

Nidhi was the first one to get selected in the Top 24 this year and her elimination left everyone, including us, teary eyed.

Joyful as she was on the show, her elimination was a heart breaking moment for everyone.

Here’s the last moments of Nidhi Mahajan on MasterChef AU. Have a look and see how she takes everyone heart’s away.
