Who doesn't love a superhero movie?
Well, here’s some good news! DC Comics and Warner Bros. have begun work towards the production of Supergirl , according to a Deadline report.
The superheroine first appeared in Action Comics #252, helmed by writer Otto Binder and illustrator Al Plastino. After the first three Christopher Reeve-starring Superman movies, producers spun off Supergirl into a 1984 film. It was directed by Jeannot Szwarc and written by David Odell.
The script for the upcoming movie will be written by Oren Uziel, whose famous works include 22 Jump Street and Freaks of Nature.
Race for the Role?
With the movie still in its early production stages, Twitter users have started throwing names into the gauntlet. And Dianna Agron and Melissa Benoist (protagonist of the TV show Supergirl) are clearly the early favourites!
The movie will be the latest addition to the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Expectations for the movie have already been set high due to the success of the previous Supergirl movie.
Super Expectations!
With many people suspecting a new Man of Steel movie soon - there may even be a surprise appearence of Superman actor, Henry Cavill.
However, many fans have held on to their excitement as Warner Bros and DC Comics have a history of teasing movies quite early. With multiple movies in the pipeline, fans suspect they will not be seeing Supergirl on-screen very soon.
