As we have seen with a lot of swimwear shoots, most fashion brands are fairly predictable when it comes to choosing models. Young girls in playful poses are everywhere – on advertisements and in magazines. The fashion industry’s obsession with youth is so widespread, we rarely stop to question it.
Not this time though. A collaborative campaign by an online specialty shop The Dreslyn and lingerie house Land of Women, features a 60-year-old model Yazemeenah Rossi, to make it perfectly clear that a company doesn’t need young models to draw attention.
The campaign aims to fight the ‘hyper-sexualised imagery’ that is usually attached with swimwear shoots.
The 60-year-old model, who according to a Mail Online report, has said she will carry on modeling forever, became a natural choice for the collection.

This shoot has made Yazemeenah Rossi, 60, probably the oldest woman to appear in a swimwear shoot surpassing the 56-year-old British model Nicola Griffin who last month became the oldest ever woman ever to appear in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
