On Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Modi declared that all 500 and 1,000 rupee notes would be rendered invalid by midnight. Furthermore, all ATMs would remain closed on Wednesday and Thursday.

Not only did the sudden declaration cause widespread concern and panic, but also severe anxiety as most citizens were rendered cashless, seemingly deprived of daily purchases too. To no one’s surprise, people flocked to ATMs on Friday morning, hassled and harried perhaps after having heard of the serpentine queues at the banks. However, it looks like the ATMs proved to be a huge disappointment too. Lots of people expressed their resentment on social media, asking for better implementation of the change brought forth by the government.

Have a look at some of the problems people tweeted out.
