When choreographer Amit Shah and his partner Aditya Madiraju decided to get married, they were clear about one thing - that they’d have a proper Indian wedding

And lo and behold, this beautiful same sex couple’s New Jersey wedding looked desi AF.

Now now, maybe the perfectly choreographed photo is because Amit (the one on the left) happens to be a choreographer!

While Amit is the founder of Aatma Performing Arts, a dance company with branches in New Jersey, New York and Los Angeles; his partner Aditya Madiraju works for a risk management company.

Their careers may not have much in common, but the wedding attire of both the grooms is perfectly coordinated and how!

Even though Shah and Madiraju got married in a civil ceremony in January this year, they wanted to honor their Indian roots. And so, they decided to conduct their wedding rituals in New Jersey’s BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir.

Both the grooms settled on designer Anita Dongre’s ensembles for their wedding day.

A desi groom shares a special relationship with his mother and this photo of the grooms with their two mothers will give you so many feels!

We wanted a proper Indian wedding. At a time when Aditya’s parents, who are based in India, were visiting us in America for the first time, felt like the ideal date. It was all completely organic, we didn’t force anything. We are truly lucky to have parents who are so supportive.

The couple’s big day, 19 July has given the Internet a lot of hope and inspiration. Which was something both Amit and Madiraju had not imagined.

We didn’t realise the impact a simple wedding at a temple would have on people around the world looking for hope. There is no secret to acceptance, tolerance, or happiness. You just have to find the right partner to take the step with. Let the truth of your love speak for itself.

Well, certainly, love like theirs deserves to be celebrated!
