A homeless man who became one of the world’s most celebrated chefs - Vikas Khanna’s story is compelling to say the least. And it is now being told on screen in a documentary that’s going to be screened at the prestigious Venice Film Festival on September 6.
The trailer of Buried Seeds was released at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year to great response.
The documentary is a timeless story of passion, resilience, failure and rise and captures India and its glory whilst capturing Chef Vikas Khanna’s journey across India and later in the US. The film will premiere in 2018.Andrei Severny, Director, Buried Seeds
What’s more, Chef Vikas Khanna himself is hosting one of his renowned dinners at the screening. Themed “Celebrating India”, the feast would showcase India’s culinary repertoire and include specialties like Lucknowi Tundey Kebab, Bhupali Saffron Sheermal, Kerala Duck Roast and Pondicherry Crab Cakes. The traditional Maharashtrian Modak would get an interesting twist with coconut, pine nuts, maple syrup and candied sugar stuffing.
