Word has it that the Capitol building is home to the ghost of a murdered Congressman, William Preston Taulbee, a US Representative from Kentucky.

Taulbee was shot dead in the winter of 1980 by newspaperman Charles Kincaid on a flight of stairs in the Capitol. Taulbee’s ghost, it seems, hasn’t got over the incident and continues to haunt the Capitol. There are accounts from people who claim to have heard his ghosts, when journalists slip on the flight of stairs.
